About the Society
The Society was formed in 1988 by Tony Olliff getting together a few like minded people to spend some of their spare time ( when not building models ) to displaying their efforts to raise money for RNLI projects. Money was collected to go towards a new Tyne class Lifeboat for Shoreham in 1992 we managed £825.00 for that appeal. Other new Lifeboats appeals we supported were Eastbourne new Mersey class £750.00, Swanage new Mersey class and over £1000.00 for a 'D' class boat which modellers from all over the country managed to pay for outright. We have also funded many other items of equipment for Lifeboat stations along the south coast and to send money to our area office to help appeals for general Lifeboat use.
